The best photoshoots happen when everyone feels comfortable. If you have any questions please get in touch. Below are some common questions I get and some things to put your mind at ease.
How do I book a photoshoot?

What time will my photoshoot be?
Most of my photoshoots take place outside and golden hour, the hour just before sunset, makes for beautiful images. I tend to do newborn photoshoots in your home so mid morning is usually a better time for these.
What happens during the photoshoot?
At times I may be a quiet observer as you interact, at other times I will give gentle prompts as we go. It's a relaxed experience and I'll work with you to highlight the beauty, connection and personality.
What if I'm really awkward?
It's really common to feel unsure in front of a camera. It's my job to create an environment that you feel comfortable in and to guide you through the session. If you're feeling awkward it helps to imagine I'm taking a video rather than photographs. People can often feel awkward when they are trying to pose for a photograph, but in a video you're free to move and be yourself.
What if my children get upset/don't cooperate?
I find that children in nature, in a novel situation, with their parents giving them plenty of attention are usually happy and fare better than expected. I have intentionally made my sessions longer than is standard in order to give us a more relaxed pace. There is no rush, no pressure, and if they are having a hard time an image of you cuddling and comforting them can also be a beautiful moment.
What should I wear?
I'll send you a welcome guide which contains information about what clothes photograph well and what to avoid. I'm also on hand to talk through outfit choices and you can send me pictures of things you're considering. I also have a client wardrobe of dresses for mothers in a range of sizes and a selection of handmade items for newborns.
Where will the session take place?
With a couple of exceptions, my sessions take place outdoors in a beautiful nature space as it affords the best light and a lovely backdrop. I choose these locations carefully with lighting, colours, composition, and session flow in mind.
